It is with great pride and not a little trepidation that I wrote this article for VFW Magazine. Pride that I even had a very small part to play in the events of the events of 3 October 1993 during the Battle of Mogadishu, which many know from the movie Black Hawk Down. Trepidation in getting the facts right and presenting some very valiant and good men in the right light.
One of the best moments of my life was the morning of 4 October 1993 when my men, Gary Holmes, Scott Davis and Raul Perez along with my fellow NCO Dimitri Pavolov returned from streets of Mogadishu.
